i cant get out of TWRP recovery mode

i cant get out of TWRP recovery mode


Hello,

Im a newcomer in this forum but I have already successfully unlocked bootloader and flash custom rom onto my OnePlus One.

Now Im doing this for my friends Xperia Z as well but im stuck in recovery mode now.

This is what Ive done so far:
- unlock bootloader
- flash twrp image file via fastboot
- after command "fastboot reboot" -> it boots into twrp recovery
- asks me if its okay to modificate system partition, i swipe okay
- want to reboot into system -> asks me if i want to flash supersu for root access, i swipe okay
- boots into twrp recovery -> want to reboot into system but i boot into twrp anyway

Edit: when power down the phone and restart -> boots into twrp recovery

Now Im stuck in recovery mode. Please help me

Esteganografía en TCP IP Una Proof of Concept en Ruby


Hace tiempo que decidí echar un ojo al concepto de ocultar información dentro de los protocolos TCP, UDP o IP. Mi idea era generar una pequeña prueba de concepto dónde pudiera utilizar un protocolo común, el cual será utilizado como Covert Channel, y transmitir información de manera oculta, como una prueba de esteganografía. Tras estudiar diferentes opciones y revisar algún paper que habla de ello - que la idea no es nueva ni mucho menos y en el libro de Esteganografía & Estegoanálisis se le dedica un capítulo a esta parte -, opté por utilizar los flags de TCP y el número de secuencia de los paquetes TCP.

En esta prueba de concepto, los paquetes TCP son reales, pero no tienen ningún sentido. Es cierto que se podría lograr un ejemplo de esteganografía más real que permitiese transmitir información sobre tráfico coherente TCP que se genere en el equipo. Es cierto, que si un administrador de red lee el tráfico que generaremos no me encontrará coherencia, y pensará que es tráfico erróneo, pero el mensaje se encuentra ahí, oculto.

Planteamiento

El primer planteamiento es ocultar información dentro de las estructuras que proporciona el protocolo TCP. Si nos fijamos en los flags más famosos de este protocolo, se tienen 6huecos” para almacenar bits. Los flags son: SYN, ACK, PSH, URG, RST y FIN. Aquí tenemos 6 bits y utilizando el número de secuencia o Sequence Number del protocolo se puede aumentar el ratio de bits. Para la prueba de concepto se ha decidido utilizar, solo 2 bits más con el número de secuencia.

En otras palabras, si queremos enviar el mensaje “esto es un secreto”, cada carácter se enviará oculto en los flags y en el número de secuencia de cada paquete TCP. A continuación desglosamos los bits de, por ejemplo, la letra "e", que se traduce en “01100101”, por lo que los 2 bits más significativos serán introducidos como número de secuencia, siendo éste el valor “1”. En el caso de ser “10” sería un “2”, y en el caso de ser “11” sería un “3”. El resto de bits menos significativos se corresponden con los 6 flags comentados anteriormente. Los flags RST, ACK y URG irían a 1. En la captura de Wireshark se puede visualizar.

En la máquina destino tendremos un programa que es capaz de leer el tráfico TCP y decodificar el tráfico oculto en TCP. ¿Cómo sabemos que el tráfico es especial? Para esta PoC hemos utilizado un puerto destino concreto como clave. Es decir, cuando recibamos un TCP destino 3030 entendemos que es un paquete con esteganografía.

El proceso de decodificación es el proceso inverso al de ocultación. El programa remoto leerá el número de secuencia y esos 2 bits (del 0 al 3) serán los bits más significativos. Después concatenaremos los flags, y obtendremos de nuevo un valor de 8 bits. Este valor se identifica con un carácter. Una vez entendido el mecanismo sencillo que se utilizará para ocultar los caracteres en los paquetes TCP vamos a hablar de la implementación.

Implementación

Para llevar a cabo la prueba de concepto se utilizó Ruby. La librería PacketFu, la cual es parecida a Scapy en Python, permite “jugar” y crear paquetes TCP y datagramas IP a nuestro antojo. Ya fue utilizado para el Port-Knocking con Latch y el modo paranoia. En la siguiente imagen se puede ver el código de la función main. El coder recibe 2 parámetros: Dirección IP destino y mensaje a ocultar en el protocolo TCP.

El coder invoca un método denominado send_message, el cual proporciona la funcionalidad de ocultar el mensaje en el protocolo TCP, tal y como se explicó anteriormente. La función send_message inyecta el tráfico en la red a través de la función inject y prepara mediante unpack los caracteres que forman el mensaje en formato bytes.

Hay una función importante como es write_byte_into_packet que permite ocultar la información en el paquete TCP gracias a PacketFu, tal y como puede verse en la siguiente imagen. En esta imagen se puede ver la explicación de dónde se oculta dentro de un paquete TCP los bits.

Y, ¿El orden?

El orden de los paquetes TCP importa, ya que no es lo mismo que la “e” de “esto es un secreto” llegue antes o después que la “s”. El mecanismo válido en un ámbito real sería utilizar el Sequence Number para lo que es, y utilizar el ACK Number cómo lo estamos utilizando nosotros en esta prueba de concepto. En este caso, para evitar problemas se ha decidido enviar los paquetes con 1 segundo de diferencia, aunque en entornos LAN no habría problema.

En la siguiente imagen se puede visualizar como el emisor lanza el mensaje a una dirección IP concreta y al puerto 3030. El mensaje es “esto es un secreto”.

El receptor recibe el tráfico y puede obtener el mensaje oculto uniendo los bits del Sequence Number y los flags TCP, tal y como se puede ver en la imagen. El resultado es el mensaje original. Si viéramos con Wireshark el tráfico veríamos paquetes TCP que podrían ser considerados incoherentes, pero que esconden el mensaje.

Bank of Americas Android app has been stuck on the same look since 2014 when version 5.0 added a hint of Material Design and saved the interface from its Froyo days. With this new version 7.0, the app gets a major facelift with plenty of new features.

The new redesign and side-menu are getting mixed reviews on the Play Store: some users are raving about how easy it is to use and others are complaining about how unintuitive its become and how some areas require a lot more steps to get to.

Deprecation of BIND LISTENER with Android Wear APIs

If you’re an Android Wear developer, we wanted to let you know of a change you might need to make to your app to improve the performance of your user’s devices. If your app is using BIND_LISTENER intent filters in your manifest, it is important that you are aware that this API has been deprecated on all Android versions. The new replacement API introduced in Google Play Services 8.2 is more efficient for Android devices, so developers are encouraged to migrate to this as soon as possible to ensure the best user experience. It is important that all Android Wear developers are aware of this change and update their apps as soon as possible.

Limitations of BIND_LISTENER API

When Android Wear introduced the WearableListenerService, it allowed you to listen to changes via the BIND_LISTENER intent filter in the AndroidManifest.xml. These changes included data item changes, message arrivals, capability changes, and peer connects/disconnects.

The WearableListenerService starts whenever any of these events occur, even if the app is only interested in one type. When a phone has a large number of apps using WearableListenerService and BIND_LISTENER, a watch appearing or disappearing can cause many services to start up. This applies memory pressure to the device, causing other activities and services to be shut down, and generates unnecessary work.

Fine-grained intent filter API

In Google Play Services 8.2, we introduced a new fine-grained intent filter mechanism that allows developers to specify exactly what events they are interested in. For example, if you have multiple listener services, use a path prefix to filter only those data items and messages meant for the service, with syntax like this:


 <service android_name=".FirstExampleService"> <intent-filter> <action android_name="com.google.android.gms.wearable.DATA_CHANGED" /> <action android_name="com.google.android.gms.wearable.MESSAGE_RECEIVED" /> <data android_scheme="wear" android_host="*" android_pathPrefix="/FirstExample" /> </intent-filter> </service> 

There are intent filters for DATA_CHANGED, MESSAGE_RECEIVED, CHANNEL_EVENT, and CAPABILITY_CHANGED. You can specify multiple elements, and if any of them match, it will call your service and filter out anything else. If you do not include a element, all events will be filtered out and your service will never be called, so make sure to include at least one. You should be aware that registering in an AndroidManifest.xml for CAPABILITY_CHANGED will cause your service to be called any time a device advertising this capability appears or disappears, so you should use this only if there is a compelling reason.

Live listeners

If you only need these events when an Activity or Service is running, then there is no need to register a listener in AndroidManifest.xml at all. Instead, you can use addListener() live listeners, which will only be active when the Activity or Service is running, and will not impact the device otherwise. This is particularly useful if you want to do live status updates for capabilities being available in an Activity, but with no further background impact. In general, you should try to use addListener(), and only use AndroidManifest.xml when you need to receive events all the time.

Best practices

In general, you should only use a listener in AndroidManifest.xml for events that must launch your service. For example, if your watch app needs to send an interactive message or data to the phone.

You should try to limit the number of wake-ups of your service by using filters. If most of the events do not need to launch your app, then use a path and a filter that only matches the event you need. This is critical to limit the number of launches of your service.

If you have other cases where you do not need to launch a service, such as listening for status updates in an Activity, then register a live listener only for the duration it is needed.

Documentation

There is more information available about Data Layer events and the use of WearableListenerService, and tags in the manifest. Android Studio has a guide with a summary of how to convert to the new API. The Android Wear samples also show best practices in the use of WearableListenerService, such as DataLayer and XYZTouristAttractions. The changes needed are very small, and can be seen in this git diff from one of the samples here.

Removal of BIND_LISTENER

With the release of Android Studio 2.1, lint rules have been added that flag the use of BIND_LISTENER as a fatal error, and developers will need to make a small change to the AndroidManifest.xml to declare accurate intent filters. If you are still using BIND_LISTENER, you will receive the following error:

 AndroidManifest.xml:11: Error: The com.google.android.gms.wearable.BIND_LISTENER action is deprecated. [WearableBindListener] <action android_name="com.google.android.gms.wearable.BIND_LISTENER" /> ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 

This will only impact developers who are recompiling their apps with Android Studio 2.1 and will not affect existing apps on user’s devices.

For developers who are using Google Play Services earlier than 8.2, the lint rules will not generate an error, but you should update to a newer version and implement more accurate intent filters as soon as possible.

In order to give users the best experience, we plan to disable BIND_LISTENER in the near future. It is therefore important that developers take action now, to avoid any future disruption experienced by users of their apps.

Cuando los mensajes SMS son realmente el First Factor of Authentication


Durante la semana pasada, además de las charlas que me llevaron a que terminara como estoy ahora - completamente devastado - tuvimos la oportunidad de tener una reunión con el equipo de Microsoft en Barcelona, encabezado por el propio Satya Nadella. Como sabéis, en el Mobile World Congress de este año la estrella fue Mobile Connect, que recibió varios premios y mucha atención por parte de todos los medios.

En la reunión, aprovechando que teníamos a Satya delante, le pedí personalmente que se pensara en utilizar Mobile Connect como First Factor of Authentication en Office 365, porque al final, si se confía en un SMS como sistema de recuperación de contraseñas, es exactamente lo mismo que si Mobile Connect fuera el First Factor of Authentication pero más incómodo y menos robusto.

Número de teléfono como recuperación de contraseña

Ya sea vía llamada, o vía mensaje SMS, casi todos los principales servicios en Internet confían en el número de teléfono como forma de recuperar la contraseña. Si has añadido el número a Facebook, Google o Twitter, puedes recuperar la contraseña siempre mediante un envío de un SMS con un OTP que se puede utilizar para poner una nueva contraseña.

Muchos usuarios, realizan este proceso de manera sistemática, ya que se confían en que siempre pueden recuperarla y cada vez que quieren entrar recuperan la contraseña, ponen una nueva, y entran. Esto sucede especialmente en aquellos servicios en los que no se entra de manera continuada, sino de forma esporádica.

Al final si el servicio confía en el SMS como forma de recuperar la contraseña, sería mucho más cómodo para el usuario confiar en el número de teléfono como First Factor of Authentication, vía Mobile Connect. Esto permite que no haya ninguna contraseña que el usuario deba recordar y pueda usar siempre el número de teléfono para autenticarse, pero sin la necesidad de tener que pegarse con las políticas de contraseñas para poner una nueva contraseña en cada caso.

Los correos de Microsoft.com utilizan el SMS y el Phone Call como 2FA.


Por supuesto, nuestra visión es que hay que darle al usuario todas las posibilidades robustas que se pueda para que él elija en cada caso qué mecanismo quiere utilizar, ya que existen muchas formas robustas de autenticarse y, dependiendo de la casuística, un usuario puede decantarse por una u otra dependiendo de cada caso.

Si confías en el el SMS para recuperar la contraseña, entonces podrías simplificar la vida a tus usuarios simplemente permitiendo que se autentiquen con Mobile Connect, así será mucho más cómodo y aún más robusto, ya que podrías eliminar las contraseñas para muchos usuarios que no deseen utilizar esa forma de autenticarse.

Google OnHub Smart Router for Internet of Things


Google is all about the Web: it develops the most popular browser and mobile operating system, it has a public DNS service, it provides broadband Internet (Google Fiber) and wireless service (Project Fi). So why not build a router to improve your Internet connection and make your router as smart and easy to use as your smartphone?

Google partnered with TP-LINK to build OnHub (TGR1900), a next-generation router for the Internet of Things. Its not the fastest router (AC 1900 Mbps), its not the most expensive router ($199.99) and its not the best router for power users. Instead, Google focused on providing the best experience for regular users, much like Apple and its AirPort devices.


"We replaced unruly cords and blinking lights with internal antennas and subtle, useful lighting, so youll be happy placing OnHub out in the open, where your router performs its best. A unique antenna design and smart software keep working in the background, automatically adjusting OnHub to avoid interference and keep your network at peak performance. You can even prioritize a device, so that your most important activity — like streaming your favorite show — gets the fastest speed," mentions Google.


There are mobile apps for Android and iOS which let you setup the router, change the settings and check the stats. A Google account is required and Google saves all the settings online, except for the WiFi password. Googles OnHub downloads and installs new versions of the firmware automatically and the best thing is that the router doesnt restart, so it doesnt interrupt your connection

OnHub is designed for Internet of Things and it supports Bluetooth Smart Ready, Weave (Nest protocol for the Internet of Things), IEEE 802.15.4 (a standard that focuses on low-speed connections between devices). The router has a dual-core 1.4GHz processor from Qualcomm Atheros (its based on Snapdragon S4), 4GB of storage, 1GB of RAM, one USB 3.0 port, a 3W speaker, a WAN port and a single LAN port (both are Gigabit ports). Youll need a switch if you want more Ethernet ports.

You can pre-order OnHub from Google Store, Amazon and other sites in the US and it will ship in the coming weeks. It will also be available for sale in retail stores in the U.S. and in Canada. Google plans to release a second OnHub device later this year, in partnership with ASUS.

Many people will wonder if Google monitors the sites theyre visiting. Theres a help center article about this, which mentions that Google collects some data about your Internet usage (data speeds, historical network usage, network status, connected devices, network settings) and associates some of them with your Google account, but you can disable this in the settings. Google DNS is used by default, but you can change the DNS settings.

So why isnt OnHub a router for power users? It has a single WAN port, it uses mobile apps for setup and changing settings, its complicated to connect multiple OnHubs because OnHub has a fixed subnet IP address that currently cant be changed.

Pretty amazing, right? I know I want to get one for myself, but lets not get too excited just yet. This thing looks expensive… and it is. The lowest you can get it for on Indiegogo is $995. That money is well worth it for someone who travels often, though.

It has reached and far surpassed its goal, so theres no need to worry. Shipping is estimated to start this January (2017), so get ready to ride right into your flight!

A lot has changed since Google launched Chrome back in September 2008. Chromes popularity has been growing ever since then and all the other important browsers became more like Chrome. Google focused on the things that mattered and transformed the browser from a simple application into a "modern OS" for web apps.

While there are many services that claim to measure the market share for browsers, I tend to think that StatCounter is the most accurate. StatCounters stats for 2008-2015 show that Chromes market share grew from 0% to 53% in 7 years, while IEs share declined from 67% to 15%. According to StatCounter, Chrome is now the dominant browser, while IE and Firefox are continually losing market share.


Its clear that Google did a lot things right when it launched Chrome, but few people anticipated that Googles browser will take over the world. Most people didnt know whats a browser and only knew that they were supposed to click on the blue E icon to go online. Google changed this by promoting a constantly evolving browser, which was faster and more secure.

Beware of fake Prisma Android apps Heres the legit Google Play link


Looking for the Android version of Prisma? Make sure you dont download a fake.

Did you hear? The unique, artistic photo-filtering app Prisma is now available on Android. But in the early days of the apps availability on the Play Store, you might be having a hard time tracking down a legitimate Prisma download.

Thats because, at the time of writing, the apps still relatively new on Google Play, and as such Googles servers are still surfacing an unfortunate number of fake apps in searches for "Prisma."

Fortunately the solution is easy. Simply download Prisma from the link below, which is the legit version from Prisma Labs, Inc. If youre following a link from elsewhere, check for "Prisma Labs, inc." as the publisher, and "contact@prisma-ai.com" as the contact email at the bottom of the page.

6s active off of ebay

6s active off of ebay


I bought an s6 active off of eBay. When I went to boot it up everything was fine till I got to a Samsung account lock. I dont know if its appropriate to ask but does anyone know how I can use my own account. The person I bought it from says they are a pawnbroker and they can get the info or talk to the person to remove the device from their account. If you can help awesome, if not I understand, if you can point me in the right direction cool. I would contact Samsung like Ive done in the past but I cant even get the imei from it. If this is not an okay post please delete it and pm me so I dont make the same mistake. Thanks much

This week Launchpad Accelerator announces its second class, which includes 24 promising startups from around the world. While the number of accelerators is at an all-time high, we take a different approach with Launchpad Accelerator, a program that exclusively works with late-stage tech startups in emerging markets -- Brazil, Indonesia, India and Mexico.

“We provide comprehensive mentorship that delivers results,” says Jacob Greenshpan, one of Launchpad’s lead mentors. “We start by running a ‘patient diagnostic’ to determine each startup’s critical challenges, and then deploy precise mentorship, actionable solutions, and Google resources that enables the app to scale.”

Class 2 kicks off June 13. The startups will descend on Google HQ for an intensive 2 week bootcamp. Under the tutelage of Google product teams and mentors from the global Launchpad network, they will receive intensive, targeted mentoring, equity-free funding, and more benefits during the 6-month program.

Google’s “Scalerator” Drives Results for Alumni

What advice do Class 1 alumni give to the new intake? “Come to the accelerator with an open mind. You will be shocked to find how many things are going wrong in your app. Thankfully the mentors will help you implement better solutions,” says Vinicius Heimbeck, Founder of Brazilian mobile game developer UpBeat Games.

UpBeat Games had more than 1,000% increase in daily app installations in Asia during the period of a feature, as well as a 200% overall increase in active users after following a long list of improvements Accelerator mentors suggested. “We made optimizations that led us to be featured in Google Play, which changed everything for us.”

“Believe you can build a world class product. The mentors will push you to bet on yourself,” says Amarendra Sahu, Nestaway Co-founder and Class 1 alumni. NestAway just closed a $30M Series C, one of the largest investment rounds in India this year.

“Your biggest enemy is not failure; it is the temptation to be ordinary. But the mentors will push you to build an extraordinary product and scale an extraordinary startup," says eFishery Co-founder and CEO Gibran Chuzaefah Amsi El Farizy, who was announced as one of the top 27 leaders in Indonesia’s startup ecosystem, after participating in the Accelerator program.
