Classic Google Maps No Longer Available
Classic Google Maps No Longer Available
Classic Google Maps has been replaced by Google Maps Lite back in April, but there were a few URLs you could use to access it. Now they no longer work, so youll have to get used to the new interface or switch to a different service like Bing Maps or Here.com. There are still various sites that use features from the Classic Maps, including Googles own Map Maker.

Last week, I had to print some directions in Google Maps and I realized that the classic Google Maps had a much better printing feature. You could include a map for each step or add Street View imagery. The new Google Maps offers two options: print text only or print including maps. There are fewer maps included since directions are now grouped and you can no longer customize each step.

Google Profiles No Longer Required
Google Profiles No Longer Required
After so many years of promoting Google+ and integrating it with other services, Google realized that Google+ doesnt mean a lot for many Google users and it started dismantling Google+. Google Photos is now a standalone service and other Google+ features will follow suit.
In a blog post, Google announced that Google+ profiles will no longer be required and YouTube will be the first service that will make this change in the coming weeks. "A Google Account will be all youll need to share content, communicate with contacts, create a YouTube channel and more, all across Google. Your underlying Google Account wont be searchable or followable, unlike public Google+ profiles. And for people who already created Google+ profiles but dont plan to use Google+ itself, well offer better options for managing and removing those public profiles."
A lot of YouTube users complained when YouTube switched to a new commenting system which required Google+ profiles, but YouTube comments are much better today. Now YouTube comments will no longer appear on Google+ and Google+ posts that share a YouTube video will no longer be added as YouTube comments. "In the coming weeks, YouTube will no longer require a Google+ profile when you want to upload, comment, or create a channel," mentions the YouTube Blog.
Google reassures users that Google+ will continue to exist and will become "a place where people engage around their shared interests". Its a much smaller goal for a service that used to tie all the other Google services, add unified sharing and identity information. Google+ used to be more than a service, it was a layer that was supposed to make Google products work together.
Heres what Bradley Horowitz said back in 2011:
"Until now, every single Google property acted like a separate company. Due to the way we grew, through various acquisitions and the fierce independence of each division within Google, each product sort of veered off in its own direction. That was dizzying. But Google+ is Google itself. Were extending it across all that we do search, ads, Chrome, Android, Maps, YouTube so that each of those services contributes to our understanding of who you are."

Bradley Horowitz is now the Google VP of Streams, Photos, and Sharing. Thats "Streams, Photos, and Sharing" and not Google+. Ever since it was launched back in 2011, Google+ meant 2 things: the stream and the sharing platform. It looks like Google+ now focuses on the stream, which was less successful than the sharing platform.
Its not clear how Google+ will continue to exist if Google removes important features like photo sharing and starts to remove the integration with YouTube and other Google services. It just makes it easier for Google to discontinue Google+, now that fewer people will use it.

CM13 no GPS zero satellites all self troubleshooting has failed me
CM13 no GPS zero satellites all self troubleshooting has failed me
So, after flashing CM13, I simply cannot get GPS. GPS Status and Toolbox shows zero satellites, GPS Fix gets nothing after fifteen minutes, maps and Waze get nothing.
Heres what Ive tried: (TL;DR: Everything.)
- Clean flashing.
- Downgrading all the way back to unrooted 5.1.1, getting back into the unlocked CPF3 bootloader, then flashing CM.
- Getting a lock on another ROM and immediately flashing CM.
- Various different GPS status/fix apps.
- Replacing my GPS.conf with a GPS.conf from a link I cant post as a new user.
- Switching between High Accuracy and Device Only.
- Downloaded multiple fresh copies.
- Tried with an older release of CM13.
Probably a couple other things Im forgetting.
To clarify, I can 100% get almost-immediate lock with 18 to 20 satellites on stock or Jasmine in 5.1.1 or 6.0.1. Its 100% not a hardware issue.
Ive tried everything I can think of; Im at my wits end after three days and a couple of soft-lock scares.
I do have a logcat ready that was enabled from boot-up, kept it going while the GPS Status and Toolbox app tried for twenty minutes to find a single satellite. If youre interested in seeing that to help out, let me know and Ill get it to you.
Please send help.

Moto Z Review A Smartphone Like No Other
Moto Z Review A Smartphone Like No Other
With an aluminum frame barely 5mm thick and slap-on "mods" that give it crazy capabilities, the Moto Z is unlike any smartphone you can buy today. Its also the latest installment in one of the most inconsistent product families in mobile technology.
In 2013, Motorola introduced a small, modest mobile that tried to redefine what a smartphone should be, and it called it the "Moto X." The next two years would see the company gradually abandon most of the principles it laid down with that first phone, making the X bigger and brawnier to better battle the Galaxy-class competition from Samsung.
For 2016, Motorola (now a Lenovo sub-brand called simply "Moto") has taken its flagship smartphone so far afield of its origins that it isnt even an "X" anymore. The result is a smartphone that I like very much one Ill probably buy when the unlocked edition arrives in the fall but one Im not sure Id recommend to many people. Join me for the Moto Z Droid Edition review by MrMobile!
About this review
MrMobiles Moto Z Review was based on six days trial of a Moto Z Droid Edition review device on loan from Motorola/Verizon Wireless. The Moto Z Droid Edition was not paired to a wearable for this review. Test areas included the North Fork of Long Island, New York; Amtraks CT/NH/MA Northeast Corridor; and Greater Boston, Massachusetts.

![]() |
| Figura 6: Autenticación segura frente a Google |
