Charging Nexus 6P through an adapter

Charging Nexus 6P through an adapter

Hello, I have recently bought an unbranded micro usb to usb type c adapter, and I have been using it to move files over. Im wondering if its a good idea to possible charge my phone with it as well? I checked the adapter through the CheckR app and it seems to be fine, but I just want to double check. Thanks.

CloudReady Chome OS clone on an old laptop WOW!

CloudReady Chome OS clone on an old laptop WOW!

I have an old Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop that I bought in 2009.
The CPU has been upgraded to a Core 2 Duo T9600 from its original Pentium T4200. The Ram is upgraded to 4gb from the original 2gb.

I upgraded the hard disk to a 120gb SSD drive.

The Dell 1545 originally came with Windows Vista with a free upgrade to Windows 7. I recently upgraded to Windows 10. Meh. I thought, why not try Chrome OS on the old laptop. So....

I installed CloudReady Chrome OS clone on this old laptop and ran Octane 2.0.

To my surprise, the Octane rating is 17264 with NeverReady installed. Wow!

For comparison, my Dell Chromebox 3010 Celeron 2955U CPU with 8gb ram and a 32gb SSD drive scores an Octane rating of 12450.

So adding CloudReady to an old laptop looks like a really good option. Better than bloated Windows 10.

Launch an updated Android based McLaren Nokia

Launch an updated Android based McLaren Nokia

Nokia McLaren

Earlier today the Nokia-branded, and probably almost completely forgotten about, McLaren Windows Phone popped up unexpectedly. It was a quick hands-on report, with some live images of the canceled device, sitting next to the Lumia 1020 it was supposed to replace but never got the chance to. This is a device that first caught attention back in 2014, and now, more than two years later, it’s a relic of a lost time.

CEO of Cyanogen says it will remain an OS company

CEO of Cyanogen says it will remain an OS company

Kirt McMaster, the CEO of Cyanogen, has denied recent reports that the company is switching its strategy to apps, saying, "We are an OS company and our mission of creating an Open Android stands."

Late last week, rumors hit the internet that Cyanogen had laid off as many as 20% of its team members. McMaster admitted to some layoffs, without revealing specific numbers, on his Twitter account:

Those same reports suggested Cyanogen was going to work more on apps rather than its alternative smartphone OS as part of a shift in its business. Today, McMaster posted again on Twitter to deny those rumors:

The Cyanogen OS has made its way in a few phones, most notably those made by OnePlus, but it has yet to have a huge impact on the market.

Deal Alert Grab an unlocked Xperia X Performance for 579 99 on eBay

Deal Alert Grab an unlocked Xperia X Performance for 579 99 on eBay

xperia-x-performance-deal-ebay

When Ryan looked at the Xperia X Performance last month, his verdict was that it had a nice display, decent specs, but deal breakers like the lack of a fingerprint scanner and the poor camera left a sour taste in his mouth. That was nothing though compared to the shock of the price of the phone. $700. There are many, many better phones selling for that much and even less, so Sonys value proposition just seems ridiculous.
